Sir: The land of Gwadar district is 15,216 Sq. Km and despite being a coastal city, it is dealing with long-lasting and looming water issues. Before CPEC, the natives of this coastal city used to rely on tankers but unfortunately, now even water tanker owners have also stopped supplying water. The hearsay about the so-called success and benefits of CPEC cannot be true unless the people of Gwadar have fresh water to drink. This goes to show that the state apparatus is not serious about capitalising the issue of water in Gwadar. Sadly, the health department has also failed to provide responsible and sincere management. The government must solve this issue as soon as possible. What is success without even the basic right to drinking? ADNAN DOST Karachi Published in Daily Times, May 1st 2018.
