FAISALABAD: Thikriwala police arrested nine persons on the charge of gambling in Chak 66-JB Dhandra. According to police spokesman, the police team on a tip-off conducted raid in chak 66-JB and nabbed nine persons–Shehbaz, Mumtaz,Samiullah, Muhammad Arshad, Lal Din, Parvaiz,Muhammad Sharif, Shakeel and Muhammad Anwar on the charge of gambling. Further investigation was underway. 13 POs detained The police arrested 13 Proclaimed Offenders (POs), including two POs of category-A,from Faisalabad and recovered 6 pistols and 2 Kalashnikovs from their possession. A police spokesman said that the police also nabbed 5 drug traffickers and recovered 2.86 kilograms charas, 182 litres liquor and 106 litres un-distilled wine from their possession . Further investigation was underway. FESCO shutdown Faisalabad Electric Supply Company (FESCO) has issued shutdown program for Saturday due to necessary repair, maintenance and expansion of electricity lines. According to the program issued by the company, power supply from SKT Road feeder emanating from 132-KV Shorkot City grid station and State Life feeder originating from 132-KV University grid station will remain suspended from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm. Ideal (SEL), Ideal/Eshaq Spinning, F-5 and Pride (SEL) feeders emanating from 132-KV Bandala grid station, Saeed Abad-1, Saeed Abad-2, Nia Lahore-1, Nia Lahore-2 and Gojra Mor feeders originating from 66-KV Nia Lahore grid station will observe shutdown from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm on Saturday (April 21). Canal Park Parks and Horticulture Authority (PHA) has allocated Rs. 100 million for rehab of Canal Park Sammundri Road. A spokesman of PHA said on Friday that Director PHA has given approval for rehabilitation of Canal Park and landscaping of the park would be done.
