KHYBER AGENCY: Pakistan and Afghanistan officials on Wednesday held a flag meeting in Torkham to discuss the matters of mutual interests. According to forces official, the moot was organised at zero point of the border and Colonel Arshad represented the Pakistani side while Colonel Wahid headed the Afghan delegation. Border security, fence repairing, single-window system for cross-border trades and other mutual issues were discussed in the meeting. The Afghan officials asked to extend the closing time of Torkham gate from 19:00 to 21:00 UTC. Furthermore, they stressed to hold a meeting once a month. They invited Pakistani cricket team for a friendly match in Afghanistan. The Pakistani officials assured the delegation that their grievances would be conveyed to the higher authorities for consideration. The meeting was held in a friendly environment and the delegations of both neighbouring countries greeted one another. Published in Daily Times, April 19th 2018.
