KARACHI: Pakistan Peoples Party chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has strongly condemned firing at the residence of Supreme Court judge Justice Ijazul Ahsan in Lahore and demanded an independent inquiry into the incident. In a statement, the PPP chairman said that intimidation of judges was an unpardonable act and those involved directly and indirectly in the firing incidents at the residence of Justice Ahsan should not go scot-free. They deserved exemplary punishment, he said. Bilawal said that PPP stood for protection and respect of judges despite the fact that it has been a victim as its founder Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto was made target of judicial murder but not a single stone was thrown against anyone from judiciary. Separately, Bilawal strongly condemned a terrorist attack near Church area in Quetta in which several innocent persons were killed on Sunday. In a statement, the PPP chairman said that terrorists unleashed serial attacks on Christian community in Quetta to tarnish the image of the country and its harmonious society and demanded stern action against terrorists involved in the attacks. Bilawal expressed sympathy with those who fell victims to the Quetta terrorist attacks and demanded best possible medical treatment to those injured in the attack.
