59th birthday of renowned Sindhi singer Manzoor Sakhirani was celebrated at Dadu Press Club on Sunday. A number of singers, artists and social activists were present on the occasion. The programme was organised by Dadu Press Club and Sindh Fankar Welfare Trust. Addressing the audience, archaeologist Syed Hakim Ali Shah Bukhari said that singer Manzoor Sakhirani possesses a melodious sweetness in his voice. He said that people of Sindh love Manzoor Sakhirani. Hakim Ali Bukhari also appreciated the Dadu Press Club for arranging the event to celebrate the birthday of the legendary singer. Senior journalist Ghulam Hussain Leghari said that Manzoor Sakhirani had beautifully sung the poetry of Ustad Bukhari and other important poets with good patterns and tunes. President Dadu press club and senior journalist Tariq Leghari said, “There is a magic in the voice of Manzoor Sakhirani. When he sings, people feel pleasure. That is why people of Sindh love Manzoor Sakhirani.” Many people from the intellectual cream of Pakistan were also present on the occasion. Anwar Azad Kandhro, Ghulam Sarwar Abbasi, Professor Mumtaz Qambrani, Professor Mohammad Irfan Kalhoro, Aslam Abbasi, Niaz Panhwar, Lal Abdul Sattar Qureshi, Tabish Bukhari, Wali Chandio, Abdul Hafeez Zour, Rizwan Mangi, and Hakim Umrani also spoke on the life of Manzoor Sakhirani. On the occasion, singer and artist Rasheed Charan, on behalf of Sindh Fankar Welfare Trust, presented an award to Manzoor Sakhirani for his contributions to Sindhi music.
