KARACHI: Another serving lawmaker and leader of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) has joined Mustafa Kamal’s Pak Sarzameen Party (PSP). MQM-P MNA from Hyderabad, Waseem Hussain, announced joining the PSP at a press conference alongside PSP leaders on Sunday. In 2013, Hussain won the National Assembly seat from NA-220 on MQM’s ticket. During the ongoing infighting in the party, Hussain supported Sattar-led PIB faction. At the press conference, PSP leader Anis Qaimkhani said they rejected the new delimitation of constituencies. He added that the next chief minister of Sindh will be from the PSP. Hussain said the people of Hyderabad will decide whether his decision of joining PSP is right or wrong. On Thursday, MQM-P MNA Dr Fouzia Hameed had announced joining the PSP in a press conference at the party’s central office at Pakistan House.Speaking on the occasion, Mustafa Kamal claimed that with as many as 20,000 members on board, his party was the biggest political party of the province. Earlier, on Wednesday, two women MPAs of MQM-P jumped ship. MPAs Naheed Begum and Naila Munir announced the decision at a press conference alongside Kamal and other PSP leaders. Sagheer Ahmed, Bilqees Mukhtar, Shaikh Abdullah, Irtiza Farooqui, Abdul Razzaq, Sheeraz Waheed, Nadeem Razi and Dilawar Qureshi are among those who have joined PSP.
