ISLAMABAD: Former President Asif Ali Zardari greeted the Christian Community of Pakistan and the world on the holy occasion of Easter. “Accompanied by Pakistan Peoples Party, I wish to join Christian brothers and sisters on the happy and solemn event of Easter. May the blessings of Easter fill the hearts and souls with faith, honesty and hope,” he said. “Marking the culmination of season of fasting, alms giving, repentance and spiritual renewal, Easter is not merely an occasion of celebrations but solemnly pledge to strengthen spiritual rejuvenation,” he said. The former President lauded the struggle by Christian Community for democracy, social justice and human rights in Pakistan. “Christians have always been in the forefront of country’s struggle for democracy and human rights”, he said. “On behalf of Pakistan Peoples Party, I state that we will keep our struggle for the social uplift and integration of Christians as well as others, in the mainstream.
