ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi on Wednesday took the federal cabinet into confidence regarding his meeting with the Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Justice Saqib Nisar. PM Abbasi headed a cabinet meeting at PM House in Islamabad in which the premier took the attendees into confidence over his meeting with the CJP on Wednesday. The cabinet also approved to sign major agreements with Saudia Arabia and China, while appointments of Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) Chairman and finance member were also approved. Moreover, the law for the prevention of human trafficking was also approved by the cabinet members. Earlier on Wednesday, during the meeting between the two dignitaries at the Supreme Court, PM Abbasi assured Justice Nisar of ‘full support’ on public interest initiatives undertaken by the top judge as well as revamp of the judicial system of the country. The chief justice, on his part, assured the prime minister that the judiciary will continue to perform its constitutional duties “independently, fairly, transparently, without fear or favour and strictly in accordance with law”.
