SHARJAH: Skipper Darren Sammy’s unbelievable cameo led Peshawar Zalmi to victory against Quetta Gladiators in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) third edition held at the Sharjah Cricket Ground on Thursday. Although the middle-order crashed before some excellent bowling by the Gladiators, Sammy was instrumental in taking his side home. Zalmi chased down 142 runs in 19.4 overs, with an injured Sammy hitting 16 off 4 balls on one leg to take his side home in a spectacular finish. Darren Sammy bowled brilliantly in the death overs during the first innings, restricting Gladiators to a reachable total. Umaid Asif, Wahab Riaz and Darren Sammy took two wickets each, while debutant Sameen Gul was able to bag one wicket in his four-over quota while conceding only 20 runs. Nan ma d zarah na loba wakra.
