LAHORE: Two lawyers’ groups on Tuesday exchanged fire at Lahore Sessions Court, resulting in death of two. The perpetrator was arrested on the spot, reported Daily Times. According to details, two groups of lawyers had initially exchanged harsh words, after which they opened fire at each other. The exchange of fire resulted in one dead and one critically injured, who later succumbed to injuries. The exchange took place in front of Justice Sheikh Taseer ul-Rehman’s court. The slain lawyer’s name was Advocate Rana Nadeem, who died on the spot. Islampura police caught the perpetrator, Kashif Rajpoot, from the scene. Daily Times has learned that the accused and the dead were cousins with each other and the incident took place over a land dispute. The entrance gates to Sessions Court have been sealed and hearings of all the cases have been dropped for today. Heavy deployment of police has been observed at the court. Sessions Judge Abid Hussain Qureshi has taken notice of the case and demanded report from Operations DIG within two hours. The judge inquired how could the arms enter the premises of the court despite the security checks. This isn’t the first time a firing incident has taken place at the sessions court. Previously, an accused in murder case was shot dead in the premises of the court. A head constable had also died along with him. Watch video:
