LAHORE: Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Monday rejected nomination papers of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Ishaq Dar for upcoming Senate elections. Returning officer rejected Dar’s nomination papers during inspection after Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) had objected that the former finance minister had not presented an authentic declaration of his assets. Last week on Thursday, PTI announced that the party will challenge submission of nomination papers by Ishaq Dar due to pending corruption references against him. PTI had also said that the party would challenge nomination papers of various other PML-N leaders who the Imran-led unit alleged of being involved in corrupt practices. Other PML-N members who had their nomination papers rejected include Hafiz Abdul Kareem, Bilal Butt and Usman Khan.
