LAHORE: Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Punjab President Qamar Zaman Kaira lashed out at Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leaders Nawaz and Shahbaz Sharif on Sunday during the party’s Sabzazar rally. Speaking to the attendees, Kaira said that Nawaz is trying to play the victim by criticising Supreme Court (SC) of Pakistan’s decision to oust him from the premiership. The PPP leader also added that the former prime minister will soon be held accountable again in other cases of corruption. Kaira also alleged Nawaz of influencing court decisions in the past saying that “Nawaz used to have court decisions in his pocket but now that he has been ousted by the SC, Sharif’s next destination will be Adiala Jail.” He also claimed that the Sharif brothers had planned to loot the nation’s resources but their true face has been revealed. Taking jibes at Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif, Kaira accused him of corruption and money laundering. “Shahbaz has headed Metro projects in Lahore, but he has also looted lots of financial resources,” Kaira alleged. The PPP Punjab head further said that instead of standing by the country’s judiciary and armed forces at this crucial time, the Sharif brothers are slandering them. Continuing his tirade against the Sharif brothers, Kaira stressed that PPP co-Chairman Asif Ali Zardari can oust the ruling party from power anytime the former president wants to, but he respects the sanctity of democracy. The PPP leader also vowed to expose the Punjab Government during the party’s Mochi Gate grand rally on February 5.
