LAHORE: The Punjab Healthcare Commission on Sunday suspend surgeries in 20 operation theatres of nine hospitals, and issued notices to 18 healthcare establishments for not implementing the Minimum Service Delivery Standards. According to a press release, the operation theatres are located at the Fazal Elahi Chattha Hospital Faisalabad, the Punjab Dental Hospital Lahore, DHQ Hospital Rajanpur, Government Sardar Begum Hospital Sialkot, Syed Medical Complex Sialkot, Saahil Hospital Faisalabad, Haleema Hospital Multan and DHQ Teaching Hospital Dera Ghazi Khan. In its 23 inspections of both public and private hospitals of various districts of the province during the last week, the PHC directed the administrations of these hospitals to suspend surgeries in the operation theatres because they were unfit for any medical procedures.
