KARACHI: The Counter Terrorism Department Sindh has claimed to have identified the two key suspects involved in Sehwan Shareef blast through screening the footages of 38 Surveillance Cameras working in the surroundings. Officials of the CTD while issuing the pictures and details have sought the help and useful Information regarding the suspects from the citizens especially from Interior Sindh and have announced a 5 Million Reward against any useful information. It is pertinent to mention that on 16 February 2017, a suicide bombing took place inside the Shrine of Lal Shahbaz Qalandar in Sehwan, where the Pilgrims were performing a Sufi ritual after the evening prayers . At least 90 people were killed and over 300 got injured in the blast. Additional Inspector General CDT Sanaullah Abbasi along with SSP CTD Operation Munir Ahmad Shaikh held a Press Conference in his office on Friday to share the details about the suspects with the Media. The Police in collaboration with the other Law Enforcement agencies have successfully managed to collect the important information that can lead the Agencies to nab the key culprits of the said incident. “we have obtained two clear images and identifications of the key suspects through the examination of the CCTV Footage collected by 38 Surveillance Cameras which were installed in the” Sehwan Shareef Shrine” in a lengthy process, the evidence has been collected it is surfaced clearly that prior to one hour of the blast two key suspects were present at the site and in close view the Suicidal Jacket is very visible. We have sent the images of suspects to NADRA for further verification and we make a appeal to the citizens that if any body having any kind of information about the suspects they can contact us on the CTD Phone Number 99203438 and to Rangers Helpline 1101, the Names and Identification of informers will be kept secret and a reward worth of 5 Million will be given, AIG Sanaullah Abbasi said. It is pertinent to mention that before this press conference AIG Sanaullah Abbasi met with DG Rangers Sindh in the Ranger’s headquarters during this meeting way of sharing the information with public was discussed. On 17 March 2017 the CTD Sindh police had claimed to have foiled a major terror activity by arresting a trainer of suicide bombers and would be suicide bomber during separate raids and had also recovered explosives, arms and ammunitions, the suspects arrested belonged to Hafeez Pandrani Brohi group of Lashkar-e-Jhangvi – the same group accused of being involved in series of terrorists incidents in rural Sindh since 2010. The arrested suspects were identified as Abdul Aziz Shaikh, son of Saleh Shaikh and Aslam Gul alias Aslam, son of Saeed Gul the suspects after Sehwan bombing had come to Karachi.
