LAHORE: The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), the major opposition party in the Punjab Assembly, has voiced serious concern over the recent spate of terrorist attack across the county and urges the government to implement the National Action Plan (NAP) in letter and spirit. In this connection, MPA Nabila Hakim of the PTI Friday filed a resolution in the notice branch of the assembly secretariat. The resolution states that the surge in terrorist attacks in the country is by dint of non-implementation of the NAP, which has resulted in martyrdom of senior police officers, including two superintendents of police, and five low-rank policemen in Chaman and Quetta. The resolution demanded the government to implement the NAP and take indiscriminate action against terrorists and their abettors. Talking to Daily Times after filing the resolution, the PTI lawmaker said that the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) had put the task of the NAP implementation on the back burner. Nabila said that terrorist organizations and some other banned organisations are still operating in Balochistan where a combing operation had become a need of the hour. “The government is duty bound to protect the country from external and internal threats.” She cited the reference of Chotu gang, which had reportedly started its activities in Dear Ghazi Khan again.
