LAHORE: In what seems to be the party’s reorganisation to recapture street power in Punjab before the general election 2018, Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has announced the party’s office-bearers for central and northern districts in Punjab, including the Lahore division. According to an official announcement from the party on Tuesday, Rai Shahjahan has been appointed PPP Lahore divisional president, while Haji Falak Sher has been appointed Lahore divisional general secretary with immediate effect. Nasira Mayo has been announced as senior vice president of PPP Lahore Division (rural chapter). Khurram Wattoo, son of former PPP Punjab president Mian Manzoor Watto, has been nominated as party’s president for Sahiwal division, Ali Fareed Kathia (general secretary) and Zaka Chaudhry as (district president). For Sahiwal city, Shafqat Cheema has been appointed party’s general secretary. Meanwhile, Hamayun Sarwar Bodla has been appointed the party’s president for Pakpattan district, Souqat Bajwa (general secretary), while Chaudhry Sajjadul Hassan and Shahzal Ahmed Noul were made PPP’s president and general secretary for Okara district, respectively. Similarly, the PPP chairman has announced Syed Ibrar Shah as party’s president and Rana Ali Asghar Advocate as general secretary for Nankana Sahab district, while Syed Tariq Shah has been made party’s president for Kasur district and Mirza Naseemul Haq general secretary. Nasira Mayo, Raja Shah Jahan, Azhar Hasan Dar and Malik Hamid have been appointed party’s senior vice president for Lahore division (rural chapter), Rawalpindi division, Gujranwala division and Sargodha division, respectively. It is pertinent to mention here that the party leadership has decided office-bearers for Lahore district.
