LAHORE: Islamabad’s local administration has decided to request the interior ministry to include Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) Chief Dr Tahirul Qadri’s name in the Exit Control List (ECL), sources claimed on Sunday. The decision has been made in light of a report prepared by the administration with reference to the cases registered against Qadri accusing him of damaging property in the Red Zone, attacking the state TV channel’s building and injuring the then Islamabad operations SSP, Asmatullah Junejo, during 2014 Islamabad sit-in. Five cases were registered against Qadri, out of which three include anti-terrorism clauses. An anti-terrorism court had issued arrest warrants against Qadri. A special court had also ordered confiscation of Qadri’s properties. However, the PAT chief has not yet taken bail from the court in the cases. The decision has been made at the time when Qadri has called an All Parties Conference (APC) to announce his future plan against the government with context to the Model Town Inquiry Commission report.
