KHYBER AGENCY: A two-day extension has been given to facilitate Pakistanis working in Afghanistan to come back to their country with the national identity cards, an offer expiring today (Tuesday), security officials said on Monday. While briefing the media at Michni Post of Landi Kotal, an FC official said that after April 18, no one would be allowed to go to or even come near the Torkham border without a passport. He said that the government was serious in making this border a model and a well-established international border, adding that people on both sides of the border would be facilitated to move across the border with passports and legal travelling documents. “Implementation of proper border security plan will bar illegal infiltration from across the border,” the official said. He also said that Rahdari cards facility had expired on December 15, 2016. He said that people could now travel to and from Afghanistan using passports and visas, which was in their best interest. The official said that there was no ban on media reporting in the area, but urged the reporters to ensure balanced reporting, keeping in view the security situation and national interests, so that misunderstanding could not take place.
