LAHORE: Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting Marriyum Aurangzeb, on Monday, said that Supreme Court’s (SC) July 28 verdict in the Panama Papers case created hurdles in the country’s progress. She said that court verdicts that are against the Constitution of Pakistan have to be justified. Verdicts such as SC’s July 28 verdict create hurdles in Pakistan’s progress, she added. She also questioned why Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan was cleared despite owning an offshore company while former prime minister Nawaz Sharif was disqualified for holding an Iqama. Defending Nawaz’s statement, she said that his statement should not be taken as one against any institution. Statements in one’s defence do not imply a clash of institutions, she added.
