KHYBER AGENCY: Preparations are being given final touches in Landi Kotal to conduct the second phase of the 6th population census from April 25 to May 25. In this connection, a meeting was arranged the other day in Landi Kotal Jirga Hall, which was attended by officials of the administration, Pakistan Bureau of Statistic and other departments concerned. In the meeting, the officials thoroughly reviewed the initiatives taken for carrying out the census in a better way. Prior to it, training sessions for enumerators and other officials were held, and all necessary things were handed over to the census crewmembers on the occasion. According to an official of the Pakistan Bureau of Statistic, the entire Landi Kotal tehsil had been divided into 136 blocks. He said that two charge superintendents and eight circles supervisors would oversee the entire process. He said that 78 enumerators had been appointed who, along with security personnel from the forces and the administration (Khasadar or Levies), would visit door-to-door to execute the counting duties. The official urged the residents of the area to extend every possible assistance to the census crew, as all development works, allocation of funds and future plans would be shaped keeping in view the results of the census of the area. As per the details provided by the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics, counting will take place in 88 districts across the country during the second phase of census.
