ISLAMABAD: The Quaid-e-Azam Inter Provincial Youth Games will be held from December 25 at the Sports Complex here, the Pakistan Sports Board (PSB) announced Wednesday following a meeting chaired by director general PSB Dr Akhtar Nawaz Ganjera. The four-day event will feature 19 disciplines of sports and around 3700 athletes, team officials and technical officials will participate. “Objectives of the project are to explore new talent in sports for grooming for national teams,” said PSB media director Azam Dar. The federal government had earmarked a whopping Rs130 million for this event. The Games will stage the following sports: Athletics (men and women), badminton (men and women), baseball (men and women), football (men and women), hockey (men and women), judo (men and women), karate (men and women), netball (men and women), squash (men and women), table tennis (men and women), taekwondo (men and women), tennis (men and women) volleyball (men and women), boxing (men), kabaddi circle (men), snooker (men), weightlifting (men), wrestling (men), wushu (men and women).
