ISLAMABAD: NUST Business School (NBS) held its 8th undergraduate and postgraduate convocation at the main campus of the National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST) on Tuesday. Atlas Honda Chief Executive Officer Saquib H Shirazi was the chief guest at the ceremony; and awarded degrees to as many as 191 graduates and medals to the distinction holders. In his address, the chief guest appreciated students, parents and faculty for their immense hard work and dedication. Sharing his views on how sacrifice, morality and hard work contribute to a successful life, he urged graduates to never let go of these age-old values. He said that Pakistan’s greatest strength is its human resource, adding that now there are more opportunities for Pakistani people to be good entrepreneurs than ever before. PhD degrees were awarded to Dr Zubair Mumtaz and Dr Muhammad Sohail Rizwan. President’s Gold Medal for the best performance in academics for Master of Business Administration was awarded to Moez Malik Khattak and Hina Chaudry. President’s Gold Medal for the best performance in academics for Bachelors in Business Administration was awarded to Ms Izza Zahir. Rector’s Gold Medal for the best Final Year Project of Bachelors in Business Administration was awarded to Izza Zahir; and certificates to Sania Ahmed, Zainab Khan and Ayesha Ahmed for collectively working on the project titled ‘Developing a Business Plan for Intelligent Video Based Solutions (IVBS) Software’. President’s Gold Medal for the best performance in academics for Bachelors in Accounting and Finance was awarded to Arusha Latif. Rector’s Gold Medal for the best Final Year Project of Bachelors in Accounting and Finance was awarded to Talha Akbar; and certificates to Amir Ali, Ahmed Bilal and Abdullah Bin Khalid for working as a team on the project titled ‘Pakistan Land Exchange – A Land Valuation Portal’.
