ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan condemned the terrorist attack at the Agriculture Directorate that killed three people. While expressing grief over the incident, he extended his prayers to the injured victims on Twitter. Khan also commended the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police force and army personnel for their rapid action against terrorists and concluding a successful operation. “Commend the rapid response of KP police and [the] army that helped in containing damage and concluding the operation,” he said. Khan said the reformed professional KP police force with its special rapid response unit had made a difference in dealing with acts of terrorism in a timely, holistic and coordinated manner. “Saddened by condemnable terrorist attack in Peshawar this morning,” he tweeted on his official account after Pakistan Army announced concluding the operation against terrorists who had stormed the varsity on Eid Miladun Nabi (PBUH). ‘Burqa-clad’ terrorists stormed the Peshawar Agricultural Training Institute under the cover of fire Friday morning, killing at least nine, including a student, and injuring 35 others. All the attackers were killed by security forces in an hour-long operation. Other PTI members also weighed in and while denouncing the attack prayed for the victims and their families. They also praised the KP police for their efficient and timely response. In a joint operation, security forces killed all the terrorists who attacked the Agriculture Directorate located in front of Peshawar University on early Friday. According to Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), burqa-clad terrorists stormed the building and resorted to intermittent firing that killed three people and severely injured 17 people, including two policemen and one journalist who were then shifted to Khyber Teaching Hospital. The area where the incident occurred is a hub for educational institutions in the city, including the University of Peshawar.
