GUJRANWALA: Dacoits and thieves were on a rampage in Gujranwala as citizens were deprived of cash, gold ornaments, vehicles and other valuables in 22 incidents on Tuesday. In Ferozwala, armed men snatched Rs 22,000 and two mobile phones from Ansar. In Kamoki, bandits looted Rs 60,000, gold ornaments and mobile phones from Asghar. In Ali Pur Chatha, dacoits took away Rs 70,000, mobile phone and a gold chain from Nasirud Din. At Jinnah Road, Naveed was deprived of Rs 33,000 and mobile phone. In Nowshera Virkan, robbers looted Rs 100,000, gold ornaments and mobile phones from Shahbaz. In Wazirabad, bandits snatched Rs 110,000 and two mobile phones from Tahir. In Gakhar Mandi, Baber was deprived of Rs 35,000, a gold chain and mobile phone at gun point. In Tatlewali, armed men took away cash, gold ornaments and mobile phones from Rashid. In Khiali area, dacoits looted Rs 70,000, mobile phone and a gold chain from Nasir. In Cantt area, Hassan was deprived of Rs 11,000, a motorcycle and mobile phone at gun point. In Sohdra, armed men snatched Rs 57,000, gold ornaments and a mobile phone from Aqeel. In Dhulley area, robbers took away Rs 17,000, mobile phone and gold ornaments from Ilyas; while Sharif was also deprived of Rs 15,000, two mobiles phones and a motorcycle at gun point. In Aroop, armed men entered the shop of Mansha and looted Rs 22,000 and other valuables. In theft incidents, unidentified thieves swept the houses and shops of Ehtisham, Farooq, Faisal, Tayyab, Ismael and Arshad; while a car of Shakeel and motorcycles of Asghar and Rashid were stolen from different places. In other news, four labourers were injured while working at an under-construction building in Shalimar Town. It was said that labourers were busy working when a rope broke, resultantly injuring four workers: Usman, Naeem, Riasat and Saeed.
