LAHORE: Following the accusations of the unbeaten World Boxing Council (WBC) Silver Flyweight Champion Muhammad Waseem, the federal government, on Monday, released details of the funds given to the boxer since 2014. Ministry of Inter-Provincial Coordination (IPC) released a statement in which they detailed the funds given to the boxer since 2014 which add up to Rs 28 million. According to IPC, the boxer was given Rs2m for 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, Rs 1m for 2014 Asian Games and Rs 24.675m for training and preparation of WBC professional matches. Recently, the boxer said in a video message that he would not be able to represent Pakistan in boxing matches in the future because of the lack of sponsorship to fund his participation in international matches. IPC responded by saying that the government had spent millions on the boxer and he had not been deprived of support in any way.
