LAHORE: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) on Tuesday apprehended eight suspected human traffickers from Gujranwala and Gujrat. The move is part of a crackdown against trafficking that began following the recovery of the bullet-riddled bodies in Balochistan’s Turbat last week. FIA officers in Gujranwala arrested seven suspected traffickers and recovered 142 original Pakistani passports, according to an FIA source. The suspects were identified as Mohammad Husnain khan, Afzaal Ahmed, Iqrar Hussain, Raja Mohammad Farooq Khan, Imran Khan, Faisal Ameen and Rasheed Abbas Khan. Fake stamps, pictures, several original Computerised National Identity Cards (CNIC), medical certificates, a photocopier machine, a laptop and an internet device were also recovered from the possession of agents, media reports said.
