LAHORE: Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi and Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa visited the Line of Control (LoC) on Friday and reiterated Pakistan’s support for the people of Kashmir. In a press release, Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) announced that COAS and the premier visited Chirikot sector of the LoC where Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) PM Raja Farooq Haider was also present. They were briefed by General Officer Commanding regarding the ceasefire violations by the Indian Army and Pakistan’s retaliation on the attacks targeting civilians. PM Abbasi denounced the Indian Army’s attacks on civilians as “unprofessional” and reiterated Pakistan’s moral and diplomatic support for the people of Kashmir. He also met the family of the martyrs and announced enhanced financial support for them. On this occasion, COAS ordered that the teenage girl who lost her leg in an Indian shelling attack be shifted to Armed Forces Institute for Rehabilitation Medicine (AFIRM) to get an artificial limb. PM also appreciated the contributions of Pakistan Army for the protection of the people of Kashmir and said that Pakistan Army remains unparalleled by any other army in the world.
