LAHORE: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Wednesday summoned erstwhile prime minister Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain and former Punjab chief minister Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi on November 6 in a graft case pertaining to possession of assets beyond known sources of income. The anti-corruption watchdog’s Lahore chapter issued notices to Chaudhry brothers to appear before investigators along with the details of their assets. The duo has been summoned in a case – pertaining to alleged misuse of authorities – lodged against them in 2000 before they joined hands with former military ruler General Pervez Musharraf. The graft case is among the 179 mega corruption cases, submitted in the apex court by the NAB in 2015. Published in Daily Times, November 2nd 2017.
