NAUDERO: Integrated Health Services (IHS) has finally started Caesarean Section operations at Rural Health Center (RHC). In this connection, IHS Regional Coordinator Dr Salim Shaikh and senior District Manager Dr Kalil Ahmed Katpar told local journalists that originally RHC was a 100-bed hospital but it has not yet been completed. They said Larkana Commissioner directed them to start C-Section at RHC within a week for the benefit of needy women of rural areas who cannot reach Larkana in emergency situations and because of them they have started the facility. They said that one such operation was conducted on Tuesday, adding that now operations would be held in RHC and women would not have to go to Larkana or elsewhere. They claimed that 50 percent of RHC construction work has been completed with the remaining work due to be completed within the next one month after which all facilities would be provided. Bed capacity will increase to 100 beds after completion of the project. They said that machinery and equipment has been received and more of it would be installed as approved PC-1. They said PCR test facilities for hepatitis patients would also be provided at Centre so that needy patients do not have to go from one hospital to another for medical tests.
