KARACHI: Expelled Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) Member of National Assembly (MNA) Salman Mujahid opened a Pandora’s Box, saying MQM-P chief Farooq Sattar was still in contact with Muttahida Qaumi Movement -London (MQM-L) leaders, adding that the party was deceiving the establishment. “How can one who disowned his party chief be loyal to his workers?” he asked. “MQM is now being run by Farooq Sattar and Kamran Tessori,” he added. He stated various leaders of MQM-P, including Kishwer Zehra, were in contact with MQM founder in London. Mujahid claimed there were five or six within the MQM-P who want to take over the party. He claimed that MQM-P chief Farooq Sattar approached Pak Sarzameen Party head Mustafa Kamal and asked for his help. He said Sattar met with Kamal in DHA. He accused the senior leaders of MQM-P including Farooq Sattar, Karachi Mayor Waseem Akhtar, Faisal Subzwari, Khawaja Izharul Hassan and others of taking bribes from provincial departments. He said he would present video evidence of Farooq Sattar taking bribes. “Farooq Sattar and Faisal Subzwari received money from District East. Waseem Akhtar took money from Karachi Metropolitan Corporation. Khawaja Izhar received bribes from North Karachi,” he claimed. In response, both Irum Azeem and Farooq Sattar rejected the allegations. Irum Azeem explained her position via Twitter and wrote, “Any channel has the guts to bring Salman and me face to face so I will expose him under cyber crime”. “Salman Mujahid’s membership was cancelled because of violation of party ethics and he was asked to resign”, MQM-P Spokesman said.
