GUJRANWALA: District and Sessions Judge Bushra Zaman paid a visit to Gujranwala Central Jail on Monday and inspected the various barracks. Additional District and Session Judge Mehmoodul Hassan Bhatti, Senior Civil Judge Shafaqat Ali, Judicial Magistrate Naveed Ahmed also accompanied her. Bushra Zaman, while inspecting the women’s barracks, jail hospital, kitchen and literacy centre gave instructions to the jail superintendent that all available facilities should be provided to the prisoners. FIA: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) conducted separate raids on Monday and arrested two human traffickers from Sialkot and Pasrur. Suspects Muhammad Arshad and Muhammad Yasir are involved in sending people abroad on fake documents. Rally: Traffic Police arranged a motorcycle rally to raise awareness among the public for implementation of traffic laws. The rally started from Jinnah Stadium and ended at the Nigar Phatak GT Road. While talking to the reporters, Chief Traffic Officer Asif Zafar Cheema said that the purpose of the rally was to raise awareness among the public about the implementation of traffic laws, the use of helmets and discouragement of use of cell phone during driving. Arrested: An anti-corruption team arrested a clerk for allegedly taking bribes on Monday. A citizen, Khurram Shahzad, moved an application in the anti-corruption department against TMA clerk Muhammad Azeem, accusing him of demanding bribes from him. On the application, the judicial magistrate, along with circle officer Shahid Mehmood, raided at TMA Gakhar and arrested the accused clerk. Traffic accident: A man died in a traffic accident on the GT Road near DC Colony, Gujranwala. Hassan, 28, was crossing the road when a speeding truck crushed him.
