Financial irregularities amounting to Rs. 30 billion have surfaced in the “Naya Pakistan Manzilen Asaan” project initiated during the tenure of former Prime Minister Imran Khan. The project was reportedly launched without conducting a feasibility study or fulfilling legal requirements, leading to significant financial mismanagement. According to reports, the PC-II of the project was never prepared, and the guidelines provided by the Planning Commission were completely disregarded. Furthermore, the absence of crucial records has raised serious concerns about the project’s transparency and accountability. In response to these revelations, the Public Accounts Committee-II of the Punjab Assembly has initiated an investigation into the alleged financial discrepancies. The committee has demanded the submission of relevant records to proceed with its inquiry into the multi-billion-rupee scandal. The project has come under scrutiny for its poor planning, administrative lapses, and allegations of corruption, making it a high-profile case that has prompted urgent attention from oversight bodies.
