In a significant development for Punjab Police, the process of recruiting inspectors from the sub-inspectors under the service quota has been initiated for the first time. The process to promote and improve the service structure of police officers and personnel has been expedited under the supervision of IG Punjab, Dr. Usman Anwar. DIG Establishment I, Dr. Suleman Sultan Rana, shared that, for the first time, sub-inspectors in Punjab Police will be recruited as inspectors under the service quota. Following the directives of Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif, the Punjab Government has amended the relevant laws regarding service quotas. As a result, 86 sub-inspectors in Punjab Police will be promoted to inspectors through the Public Service Commission under the service quota. With the efforts of IG Punjab, Dr. Usman Anwar, laws have been rectified, and the provincial cabinet has approved the changes. DIG Establishment I, Dr. Suleman Sultan Rana, said that the promotion of 86 sub-inspectors to inspectors will create more vacancies for sub inspectors (SI) and assistant sub-inspectors (ASI), leading to further departmental promotions for eligible personnel based on merit and seniority. The sub-inspectors taking the exam for the inspector’s position under the service quota have expressed their gratitude to Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif.
