ISLAMABAD: Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) announced to support PML-N candidate Shahid Khaqan Abbasi for the election of the Leader of the House in the National Assembly. The development came following meeting of a delegation led by Shahid Khaqan Abbasi with MQM leaders including Dr. Farooq Sattar in Islamabad on Tuesday. Governor Sindh Muhammad Zubair Umar, PML-N leader Khawaja Muhammad Saad Rafique, Senator Salim Zia and others were also accompanying Shahid Khaqan Abbasi on the occasion. MQM-P leaders Amir Khan, Wasim Akhtar, Dr Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, Senator Mian Atique and others were also present on the occasion. The MQM support means addition of 24 votes for PML-N’s candidate. After their meeting, Shahid Khaqan Abbasi told waiting newsmen that his party is fully alive to the problems and difficulties of both urban and rural Sindh and fulfill its commitment to take all possible measures to address them. He pointed out that it was because of focused attention of Mian Nawaz Sharif that law and order situation in Karachi has significantly improved. Shahid Khaqan Abbasi announced that development package announced by former Prime Minister would be implemented. Dr. Farooq Sattar expressed the desire to maintain a durable working relationship with PML-N and announced that all MNAs of their party would vote in favor of Shahid Khaqan. He said that Karachi is facing a multitude of difficulties and problems due to bad governance. He said that economic packages were announced for all terrorism affected areas where operations were carried out and similar package may also be announced for Karachi and Hyderabad. PML-N leader Khawaja Muhammad Saad Rafiq endorsed view point of Dr. Farooq Sattar for durable relationship between the two parties. He said sense of deprivation of Urdu speaking community needed to be removed.
