PESHAWAR: The Frontier Constabulary Khyber Pakhtunkhwa remembered martyrs on Friday by paying tributes to the solders who lost their lives while serving the motherland in the war against terrorism. The Commandant Frontier Constabulary KP Laiqat Ali Khan was chief guest of the ceremony arranged at the graveyard of late Commandant Safwat Ghayur in University Town Peshawar. The FC Commandant Laiqat Ali Khan said while talking to Newsmen that so far a number of 356 FC solders have been died while 551 FC men become wounded in the war against Terrorism. He added that FC have fought side by side with other law enforcement agencies from Gilgit to Karachi in order to protect national interests. He lauded FC for remarkable sacrifices for the mother land and said that FC is front line force for which the force had been will equipped and provided with all the technically assistance. He added that from Swat operation to the Military operations against militant in recent time in FATA FC men contributed to fight the terrorists and have remarkable efforts for bringing peace back to FATA in major as will to other parts of the country. He lauded FC for their part in Zarb-e-Azb and Raddul Fassad operations and said that FC will not lag behind to participate in any war in the interests of Pakistan. Earlier a smart squad of FC paid tributes to ex commandant FC and Commandant FC Laiqat Ali Khan placed flowers on his grave and prayed for the departed soul of brave solider. The ex-commandant Safwat Ghayur was targeted by suicide bomber on August 4, 2010 near Deans Plaza in Peshawar on his way back home. Published in Daily Times, August 5th 2017.
