ISLAMABAD: Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Bajwa was briefed during his visit to Rajgal valley that security forces have cleared 90 percent of the objective area in the ongoing Operation Khyber 4. “We are heading towards a normalised Pakistan where writ of state and supremacy of law would be second to none,” the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) quoted the COAS as saying. “Every Pakistani whether in cities, tribal or far flung areas, will be able to play their positive and rightful part in the country’s progress,” the communiqué read. Gen Bajwa appreciated the professionalism of participating troops, including support of Pakistan Air Force (PAF) in skillful targeting of the terrorists’ strongholds, while minimising own casualties. Talking to officers and troops, he thanked Allah for His blessings which enabled the Pakistan Army to come up to the expectations of the nation in achievements against terrorism and militancy in the country. He said the Pakistan Army aims to restore the supremacy of law and writ of the state. “We are on the path of prosperity and peace with the cooperation of nation,” he stressed. On completion of this operation, Khyber Agency would be free of terrorists’ influence thereby providing environment for return of Temporarily Displaced Persons (TDPs) and development programme to proceed. Earlier, Peshawar Corps Lieutenant Commander General Nazir Ahmed Butt and IGFC KP North Major General Shaheen Mazhar Mehmood, Commander Khyber 4 operation received the COAS upon arrival in operational area.
