ISLAMABAD: Chief Justice of Pakistan Mian Saqib Nisar on Wednesday took notice of the incident of the chopping off of a minor worker’s hand in Sheikhupura. The notice is taken on reports published in the media that a woman employer chopped off her worker’s hand with a fodder cutter. According to reports, Irfan, son of Falak Sher, was working in Shafqat Bibi’s house for Rs 3,000 a month. On the day, when the boy asked for his salary and food, Shafqat got angry and she allegedly cut his right hand with a fodder cutter. He was shifted to a hospital. The Safdarabad police refused to register a case when the family approached them. Jannat Bibi, the boy’s mother, moved the district and sessions judge who directed the police to register a case. The police registered a case against Shafqat, her brother Zafar Tarar and two others and arrested Zafar. Taking cognizance of the matter, the CJP has summoned a report from the Punjab inspector general within 48 hours.
