KARACHI: The Sindh High Court on Wednesday sought the record of NAB inquiries during the last five years from the National Accountability Bureau Sindh chapter. A division bench of SHC was hearing a petition filed by a government contractor Pharas Raam against NAB inquiry in a development projects in Umerkot district of Sindh. The petitioner’s counsel submitted that NAB Sindh had not completed its inquiry against his client even after two years. When a NAB special prosecutor sought time for filing reply on the petition, Chief Justice Ahmed Ali Sheikh expressed his anger. He remarked that the bureau had spent millions of rupees on investigation of thousands of rupees corruption. The top judge of the province directed the federal anti-graft body to apprise the court about the inequities in-completed and taken to logical conclusion during last five years. The court also ordered NAB to submit complete records of pending inquiries by October 6. The court adjourns further hearing of the case till October 6, 2017. The petitioner has sought court order for NAB to drop the inquiry against him which the bureau was pursuing for the last two years but did not complete it. Published in Daily Times, August 24th 2017.
