ISLAMABAD: Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Mian Saqib Nisar has taken a suo motu notice of an incident at a private news channel’s show recording in which a woman was killed and dozens were reportedly injured after the stage collapsed in Bahria Enclave. The chief justice has ordered the Islamabad Chief Commissioner and Inspector-General of Police (IGP) to submit a report on the incident within 48 hours. According to Spokesman of the Supreme Court Shahid Hussian, chief justice of Pakistan has taken suo motu notice of the incident over the news stories appearing in media. It is worth mentioning here that on April 28 an entertainment show was being recorded at a private housing society in Islamabad when the stage of the TV set collapsed, injuring nearly 90 people, out of them news of some deaths was also reported on social media. It was informed in a private TV channel program that two people were in the incident and dozens others were injured. However the organizers of the program instead of providing medical treatment to injured fled from the scene and lights installed on the stage were also switched off. Due to this rescue teams faced difficulties. The Islamabad administration remained silent over the incident and did not take any legal action.
