The Multan Sultans continued their dominant run in the Pakistan Super League (PSL), crushing the Lahore Qalandars in a mammoth victory that further solidified their position at the top of the table. The Qalandars, meanwhile, remain winless and rooted to the bottom after six consecutive losses. Opting to bat first, the Sultans powered their way to an imposing 214, led by a stellar 96 from Usman Khan. Khan formed crucial partnerships throughout the innings, narrowly missing out on a well-deserved century. The Qalandars’ chase got off to a promising start, but quickly stumbled as wickets fell in rapid succession. Usama Mir proved the star of the Sultans’ bowling attack, taking an incredible six wickets to dismantle the Qalandars’ batting lineup. Multan Sultans captain Mohammad Rizwan praised his team’s performance, stating, “This was a good batting deck, and we executed our plans perfectly. We’re playing with a champion’s mindset.” Usman Khan, named Player of the Match, expressed his focus on building partnerships and playing his natural game. Lahore Qalandars captain Shaheen Afridi acknowledged his team’s disappointing run but remained optimistic. “We’ve been unlucky, and today we lacked effort with both bat and ball. But we’ve won the PSL twice, we won’t give up,” he said.
