Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) president Asif Ali Zardari has become active to retain party’s Opposition Leader in National Assembly Khursheed Shah following Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and Muttahida Qaumi Movement’s (MQM) alliance and possible bid to change Shah with Imran Khan. Reportedly, Zardari is holding meetings with allies and has also called Shah to Islamabad. The PPP leaders are mulling moves to foil PTI’s bid to change the Opposition Leader. National media networks reported that the PPP leadership is confident in numbers on their side and that PTI’s move was “useless”. Sources said that the PPP leaders are also mulling nominating Shah for NAB chairmanship.
