SUKKUR: Awareness sessions on reproductive and health rights were organised by the NARI Foundation in association with AmplifyChange in 10 villages of Saleh Patt taluka was held on Friday. Speaking on the occasion, Sukkur NARI Foundation Programme Manager Advocate Shafique Ahmed said that lack of awareness remained a key cause to deaths during pregnancy. Saeed Ahmed of the Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) project, Mushtaque Tanwari and Advocacy Officer Fatima Naeem Mangi said, “People usually hesitate to talk about reproductive health and contraception but thanks to the collaborative efforts of the NARI Foundation and AmplifyChange they (people) have now broken this taboo. Zameer Bhanbhro, Waheed Mahar, Talib Mahar and Rahim Bux Mahar were of the view that there would be a change in thinking of people after awareness sessions in the area.
