RAWALPINDI: Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa has summoned an ‘important’ meeting of the corps commanders on Tuesday. The country’s top commanders are scheduled to review the internal and external situation of the country and talk about COAS’s recent visit to Kabul where the army chief discussed matters regarding regional security and other issues with Afghan President Ashraf Ghani. The Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) said both sides reviewed the prevailing security environment in and around the region and called for strengthening the bilateral relationship between the countries. Pakistan offered support and help to its neighboring country and pushed for a mutual understanding to be developed amongst the countries. The first meeting after Trump’s address took place on September 7 where operation Radd-ul-Fasaad was discussed and internal & external security was discussed. Pakistan has taken a tough stance after Trump’s address and has conducted several civil-military meetings afterwards.
