Sir: Unemployment is a major issue in Turbat and is rising at an alarming rate. Almost 500 students graduate every year from different colleges in Turbat but hardly any of them get jobs. This has left the youth disappointed. Unemployment has been one of the main reasons for the increased crime rate in our city. Many of these youths have become drug addicts. The issue becomes problematic when instead of becoming a source of income for their parents, the youth find themselves dependent on their family’s income. The government recently announced an internship programme for which some 6,000 unemployed youths have applied. I request the government both in the province and in the Centre to look after the affairs of Turbat and save its citizens from getting wasted. Ejaz Ahmed Turbat
