
KARACHI: A bank officer was shot dead in a broad daylight in an incident of firing in District Central of a metropolis.
56-year-old Aijaz Aslam, son of Muhammad Aslam Khan was critically wounded when he was shot by armed motorcyclists outside his residence in Shadman Town within Sharae Noor Jahan police remits. He was immediately taken to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries during treatment.
The inquiry officer Muhammad Javed said that deceased was the assistant vice-president of Allied Bank Limited’s Bahadurabad branch. The officer said that the incident occurred when he was getting inside his car to go to office when armed motorcyclists opened fire at him.
While quoting the victim’s son, the officer said that his father had no enmity with anyone and had no affiliation with any religious or political party. DSP Muhammad Shaukat said that the motive behind the incident has yet to be ascertained, adding that the incident could have been occurred over offering resistance on a robbing bid, however, the police is investigating the incident from different angles. The case has been registered against unidentified persons and further investigation is underway.
