Green shirts beat Kiwis in the semi-final of the ICC Men’s Twenty20 World Cup 2022 at the Sydney Cricket Stadium — being played today (Wednesday) — seeking a spot in the World Cup final of the major cricketing event.

Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan started strongly in Pakistan’s 153-run chase against New Zealand.

Pakistan fans began comparing Babar Azam’s team’s run to Imran Khan’s team’s performance in the 1992 World Cup.

Earlier, Daryl Mitchell’s half-century helped New Zealand set a 153-run target for Pakistan in the T20 World Cup semi-final.

Pakistan faced off New Zealand for the fourth time in a World Cup semi-final. The two teams have faced off against one other six times in the history of the T20 World Cup, with Pakistan winning four of those games while New Zealand won two.

India and England will play the second semi-final at the Adelaide Oval stadium in Adelaide on Thursday.

The Black Caps practiced in Sydney before the big game of the mega cricket event. But, the Pakistani players took a rest, except for skipper Babar Azam, who practiced alone for one and a half hours.
