ISLAMABAD: The three-judge bench of Supreme Court (SC) reserved its decision in Panamagate case filed against Pakistan’s Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif’s family on allegations of corruption and money laundering on Friday.

The three-member bench headed by Justice Ejaz Afzal, including Justice Sheikh Azmat Saeed and Justice Ijazul Ahsan observed that they are aware of fundamental rights of petitioners and respondents and there would not be any diversion from any law while delivering judgments.

The bench also observed that there might be minor flaws in Joint Investigation Team (JIT)’s report, but overall the team has performed beyond expectations, nevertheless, how much of JIT’s work can be implemented is yet to be seen.

In his observations, Justice Ejaz also stated that the bench was already reviewing the matter of the prime minister’s disqualification, while Justice Ijazul Ahsan remarked that the court would not back down from its decision.

The bench also stated that they will soon announce the date for the final decision.
