Three polio workers were killed and one was seriously injured in a shooting by unidentified suspects in North Waziristan’s Datta Khel tehsil on Tuesday.
The deceased were identified as constable Raza Ullah, a resident of Darri Wasta tehsil Dattakhel, constable Din Shaheed, a resident of Kani Rogha Manzar Khel tehsil Dattakhel, and polio worker Rasheed Ullah, a resident of Tang Kalli tehsil Dattakhel.
The injured and deceased were transported to Miranshah Hospital. They were attacked while performing their duties.
The police and security forces cordoned off the area and started an investigation to arrest the culprits.
It should be noted that an anti-polio campaign was currently underway in North Waziristan.
