ISLAMABAD - Embassy of Pakistan, Jakarta, in collaboration with Kashmir Solidarity Forum Indonesia organized Kashmir Solidarity Day at Embassy February 5.

Pakistani community and media persons, says a press release received here on Friday from Jakarta. Ambassador of Pakistan Mohammad Aqil Nadeem addressed the audience and shared the historical background of the Kashmir dispute. Quoting various UN Resolutions, he emphasized the international community to push for implementation of UN Security Council's Resolutions which promise for a free plebiscite.
He described the right of self-determination for the people of Kashmir, as a fundamental human right. Pakistan will support the legitimate struggle of Kashmiri people with all available legal means.
Chairman, Kashmir Solidarity Forum, Dr. Zahir Khan informed the gathering about atrocities and violence being carried out against Kashmiri freedom struggle. He urged the Indonesian people and international community to support the cause of self determination of Kashmiris.
Dr Zahir highlighted the response of Indonesian Muslims on the issue of Kashmir citing events of 1965 Pakistan- India war. The session was followed by question and Answer by the audience. Ambassador also briefed the journalists and responded their questions.
