Shopkeepers fined for violating official rates

SHIKARPUR: The main bazaars of Shikarpur and Jacobabad were visited by commissioners on Saturday and some shopkeepers were fined for violating the official rate list and selling commodities at higher prices.

According to details, Additional Commissioner Shikarpur Syed Arbab Ali Shah accompanied by other officials paid a visit to the bazaar and fined shopkeepers for not following the price rate list of the items issued by Deputy Commissioner Shikarpur.

On the directives of district and sessions judge Shikarpur, AC Syed Hassan Raza visited the bazaar in the city and checked whether the rate list of essential commodities including beef, vegetables and others was being followed. He reportedly caught nine shopkeepers selling daily useable articles at a costly price red-handed. Therefore, he charged them a Rs 4200 fine.
